AGRICULTURE :

Agricultural Diversification and Intensification Project (ADIP): The project started in 1998 by DORP with the assistance of IFAD, WFP and GOB at Kotiadi, Kuliarchar & Mithamoin Upazila under Kishoregonj District. A number of agencies like Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE), LGED and Agrani Bank are related to the project in various ways. On implementing, this project has improved the livelihood including nutritional status & to diversify as well as to intensity agricultural activities of different farmer groups such as:

Marginal and Landless Farmers Group (MLFG),
Small Farmer Groups (SFG),
Marginal Farmer Groups (MFG), which covered 4341 beneficiaries since inceptions to 2004.
FORESTRY :

DORP started social forestry program with the assistance of World Food Program (WFP) & Department of Forestry from 1992. Road side plantation, Block plantation, Bamboo plantation & Nursery development are the main activities of this program implemented through DORP~s beneficiaries. So far a total number of 1,71,500 saplings have been planted covering 174 KM Road side area at Charfashion Upazila under Bhola district which covered 343 beneficiaries. There is an agreement among the care taker (beneficiaries), Road owners/Union Parishad and DORP sharing benefit at the rate of 65%, 20% and 15% respectively. At present DORP is supervising the maintenance program.

Partnership with Local NGO: Social Afforestation Program at Ramgati Upazila under Laksmipur District covering 78 km has been handed over to Ramgati Development Centre (A local NGO), Ramgati on 5.11.2003 through an Agreement.

FISHERY :

Pond Re excavation and Fish culture program was executed by DORP from 1993 to 2000 with the assistance of World Food Program WFP and Department of Fishery at Bhola, Laksmipur & Kishorgonj. districts. Groups are formed with the poor inhabitants of the pond surrounding. The program is undertaken with a view to create job opportunities and poverty alleviation in the long run. Above 62 ponds has been re excavated at 7 upazilas and 132 acres of water body has been created and pond fish culture are being done by poor group members. The sharing benefit are Group beneficiaries 60%, DORP 20% and owner of the Ponds 20%. At present DORP is supervising the activities.

WATER :

Second Small Scale Water Resources Development Sector Project of LO ED

This project started on 29/03/2003 for achieving development of improved means of beneficiary participation in the selection design, implementation and 0&M of small scale Water Resources Management System at Comilla & Laksmipur districts.lt was jointly implemented by DORP & BETS (Bangladesh Engineering Technological Services). Recently this project has been extended upto March 2006.

During this year, DORP has been awarded a project on Jamuna Meghna River Erosion Mitigation Project (JMREMP) under BWDB and the project activity has stanted in Jan, 2005.

ENVIRONMENT :

Jamuna Bridge Railway Link Project (JBRLP):

Under Plantation and Social Afforestation Program within the ROW, DORP has planted 3,00,812 saplings and distributed 1,81,575 saplings among the PAPs. In this year, DORP established a new nursery at Kaliakair Rail Crossing point. Besides, 3 nurseries for re plantation purposes have been established at Natia Para, Agbetor & Kaliakair where 100000 saplings were arranged.

DORP already re planted 80,000 nos. of saplings from Rail Track 34.42 KM to 00 KM and counting of trees has been started iointlv by JBRLP & DORP from 19.10.2004. The benefit sharing are beneficiaries 50%, JBRLP 30% and DORP 20%. By this time the distribution of ID Card among 1270 nos. of beneficiaries from Sirajgonj to Joydevpor are also under progress.
