  Development Organisation of the

Development Organisation of the Rural Poor DORP started micro credit program in 1994. The main objective of this program is to increase income through alleviation of poverty of the disadvantage section of the people. In 2004 the management of the activities of 9 Upazillas (viz Ramgati, Lama, Charfession, Amtali etc) have been vested on local management. DORP micro credit program has reached its thirteen years from twelve years. There is plan to strengthen & increase the micro credit program of DORP in the coming year.

PRESENT IMPLEMENTATION AREA :

At present DORP micro credit activities are going at Bhuyanpur, Sirajganj (PKSF), Katiadi, Kuliarchar, Mithamoni Upazillas (ADIP), Barguna Sadar (DORP), Lakshmipur Sadar (DORP), Raipur (WEC) & Banskhali (DORP) covering 9 Upazillas. In 2004 Development Organisation of the Rural Poor DORP has got membership of PKSF as partner organization & for which the DORP has come in the ferefrant as micro credit operational area.

ORGANISATIONAL POSITION :

DORP micro credit program is being implemented in 288 villages of 62 Unions of 9 Upazillas in 6 Districts. Total 665 Samities of these areas are included in the program. There are 9 Branch Offices in 9 Upazillas. In each Branch there is a Manager, Supervisor, Accountant & at field level Community Organizers who are working retentlenly for keeping the structure strong by forming Samity & groups & imparting them training & encouraging fo credit savings.

SAVINGS ACTIVITIES :

Along with micro credit support DORP is encouraging group members to accumilate the groups capital by the small deport of the members of TK 1,46,00,240 has been suported by the savings of 15,312 members. From that savings an amount of TK43,79,464 has been withdrawn by the members. At present the savings balance stood TK 1,02,20,776.
