  The Gender

The Gender, Human Rights, Media .& Relief Rehabilitation Desk of DORP is combined with several projects and programs related to gender, human rights, media and relief & rehabilitation.

GENDER & DEVELOPMENT :

Gender and Development is one of the important programs which is a cross cutting issue covering all programs of DORP To formulate a gender policy DORP deployed consultant in 2001. The objectives of the program are to develop gender consciousness and behavior among the staff and gender sensitization among the beneficiaries and in the society.

ACHIEVEMENTS DURING 2004 :

Organization Level :

Two staff of DORP at central level (one female & one male) received gender and development training.
Fourteen field level staff received training on gender and development.
Seven staff received training on social harmony and rights training

Attempts are always underway to increase the number of female staff gradually for gender equity. At present DORP has 210 staff both in Central and Project level, among which 146 are male and 64 female and in percentage 30.47% of the DORP staff members are female.

Measures are always taken to make the service time for the female members comfortable. Facilities of bathroom, payer rooms and others are accessible. They are also enjoying maternity leave and other leave with pay.
